Tagbilaran City Tour (DIY Bohol Part 2)
72
Bohol, Philippines
Our second day was filled! We went on a city tour of Bohol's capital, Tagbilaran City, from 8:30AM to 7:30PM. I was so excited to see the chocolate hills and the tarsier :)
The tricycle tour was at 1500P and we still got our previous driver from the trip back from Panglao. Tagbilaran city tour via tricycle is supposedly only 600P to 700P excluding Chocolate Hills at Carmen since it is far from the other locations. At the same time, the Bee Farm was at Panglao. However we wanted to go to Bohol Bee Farm since we were scheduled to go to Danao the next day.
Tagbilaran Tour Locations (+ Bohol Bee Farm at Panglao):
1) Blood Compact - picture taking only. Lots of tourists at that time. Got tarsier keychains @5pcs for 100P outside.
2) Baclayon Church - this is my favorite in all the churches we saw. It was built 1595 according to the inscription at the door. There is a museum with a 30P entrance but we no longer went inside.
3) Alburquerque Python - had the biggest python snake in captivity as well as other animals. Oh, and yes, Marimar - who is a funny performer. There is a 10P payment Bohol Government entrance price, and a 20P entrance at the gate
4) Loboc River Tour - 1st trip at 11:30AM. Buffet Lunch is 300P with softdrinks. Expensive but worth it for me since it had bottomless crab :)). Entrance at the cruise is 100P. Along with the 1hr river cruise is a singing band and a stop over a floating raft with locals singing and dancing. I got myself a Tarsier Shirt at Islands Store on sale at 370P
5) Tarsier Encounter - All tarsiers have been collected by DENR so that they can have a safe area and they are now in Corella. There are about 136 tarsiers in the place but only about 10 are shown to the public since the rest are being bred. The oldest tarsier in the place is 16 years old. According to our guide the tarsier's life span is until around 20 years old. 50P entrance
There is currently a 'Project Tarsius', which is trying to improve the conditions of the tarsiers
6) Bilar Man Made Mahogany Forest - it was cool underneath all the tall trees, would've loved to run there
7) Simply Butterflies Conservation Center - in Bilar has a big black butterfly. The butterflies (and a dragonfly) there were very friendly and would come near us. There was also a guide that even let us smell the pherohormone of the butterfly. 30P entrance.
8) Bohol Chocolate Hills at Carmen - Bohol City Government entrance 50P. Beautiful view of the well known chocolate hills. And yes, when we saw them they were green
9) Loboc Bridge - short picture in the hanging bridge. There were two bridges. 10P Bohol City Government entrance
10) Loboc Church - built in 1602, 2nd oldest church in Bohol. Quick picture as well before leaving. There is already a store underneath the beautiful structure of an also historic bell tower just across the Loboc Church.
11) Bohol Bee Farm - beautiful place, super rough road on our way there. Got yummy mango and honey spread from their store @ 140P each and malunggay ice cream which is a must buy @ 60P for a big scoop. Dinner was an 8 slice seafood pizza @280P with generous cheese and seafood, and lemon and malunggay tea @ 40P each
